UEM Edgenta provides an innovative, cost-effective sustainable design solution for The Wilson Special Needs School, a state-of-the-art facility for the special needs students in Takapuna.
We led a multidisciplinary design team in the development of The Wilson School to provide a fully integrated design services that employs sustainable design principles such as natural lighting and ventilation.
The school is a modern, two-storey building and was creatively designed to meet the special functional needs related to teaching the special needs children. Amongst specialised facilities include six classrooms, a multi-purpose space and specialist therapy rooms as well as equipment that are disabled-friendly.
UEM Edgenta worked closely with the school to provide the clients with the expertise and knowledge, ensuring a well-finished project. The school has set a new benchmark for special needs education in New Zealand and is serving as a showcase school for the Ministry of Education.
