Full Release: Kuala Lumpur, 6 January – UEM Edgenta Berhad (“UEM Edgenta” or the “Company”), kicked off the new year with its ‘Back-to-School’ programme, as part of the Company’s annual corporate responsibility (“CR”) initiative.
Under the programme, 1,233 school-going children of 796 UEM Edgenta employees from across Malaysia were provided with school essentials, including two sets of school uniforms, a pair of shoes, a pair of socks and a school bag. The annual initiative is aimed at assisting the Company’s employees and motivate their children as they enter the 2021 national school term which starts on 20 January nation-wide.
Speaking during a handover ceremony at the Company’s headquarters, Syahrunizam Samsudin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of UEM Edgenta said, “We are determined to uplift the spirit of our employees’ children, despite the ongoing pandemic. The school essentials we have contributed is to enable them to excel in class and inspire them to always do their best at school.”
“We will continue to refine and expand our CR initiatives, as well as support our stakeholders in key education-based activities which are aligned with our vision to spur the growth of Malaysia’s human capital for the future,” added Syahrunizam.
