Driving Climate Action, Building a Responsible Future.
Our pledge to drive climate action starts with reducing emissions through Net Zero targets and a clear decarbonisation roadmap. By embedding sustainability into our operations, we strive to continue doing business responsibly while driving climate action for a better future.
Why Net Zero Matters
As a multi-segment organisation operating across diverse geographies, including energy-intensive asset and facilities management, we recognise the significant risks climate change poses to our operations and supply chains. Events due to climate change increase costs and disrupt business continuity. Our commitment to Net Zero reflects a proactive approach to reduce emissions, mitigate climate-related risks, and prepare for regulatory. By embedding climate considerations into our strategies, we aim to lower our environmental footprint, and build long-term resilience.
Our Approach
UEM Edgenta is committed to achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050, in line with our purpose to deliver sustainable asset management that enrich lives. Our decarbonisation journey is shaped by 6 decarbonisation levers and our climate goals are aligned with the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Global Pathway.
Our Targets
We launched our Net Zero Targets based on 2022 emission baseline. Our focus is on decarbonising operational emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) through a clear decarbonisation strategy with short-term, mid-term, and long-term targets
We are driving energy efficiency across our operations through implementations of asset and equipment retrofitting, including using energy efficient equipment and smart energy management systems
We pledge to transition to low-carbon materials by replacing high-GWP refrigerants with eco-friendly alternatives and exploring renewable biogas and low-carbon natural gas into our operations.
We aspire to transform our own assets into certified green buildings by integrating smart technologies and energy efficiency equipment. At the same time, we partner with clients to deliver solutions that help them achieve green building certifications, supporting a broader transition to sustainable spaces.
We are advancing low-carbon mobility by prioritising electric vehicles wherever practical, promoting shared and efficient transport solutions, and driving awareness programs to encourage sustainable travel choices across our operations.
Following comprehensive decarbonisation across all operational levers, we aspire to advance to the next-generation climate strategies—deploying Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) to sequester and repurpose residual emissions, complemented by high-integrity carbon offsets—to achieve a fully verified Net Zero pathway.
