Driving Sustainable Solutions for a Better Tomorrow
At UEM Edgenta, sustainability is one of the core principles that drives every decision we make. From reducing carbon emissions to fostering resilient communities, we integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices into our operations to create long-term value for stakeholders and the planet. Together, we are shaping a future where progress and responsibility go hand-in-hand.
I feel privileged to share with my valued stakeholders that at UEM Edgenta, sustainability is not just a guiding principle, it is integrated into the way we operate, make decisions, and create value. Guided by our Sustainability Roadmap 2.0, we actively take steps to advance our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities with focus, discipline, and measurable progress.
We are making steady progress towards our Net Zero aspiration through initiatives that reduce emissions and support both our climate goals and Malaysia’s commitment to a low carbon economy. Sustainability, however, is not solely about the environment. At Edgenta, we place equal importance on the social dimension, recognising that our people are among our greatest assets, working tirelessly to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure.
Our Human Rights Policy (2025) reinforces ethical and responsible conduct across our workforce and business partners, while our supply chain practices promote accountability and inclusivity across the value chain.
We remain steadfast in upholding integrity, transparency, and sound governance as the foundation of our operations. These principles continue to guide us as we deliver sustainable growth and long-term value, building a company that thrives responsibly for the benefit of all.
Sustainability Governance
UEM Edgenta’s sustainability agenda is overseen by the Board of Directors, supported by the Board Governance and Risk Committee (BGRC) and Nomination and Remuneration Committee to ensure strong governance and alignment with corporate objectives.
The ESG Steering Committee, chaired by the MD/CEO, drives sustainability strategies, reviews ESG risks and performance, and reports to BGRC. Supporting this, the ESG Department develops frameworks, targets, and KPIs, monitors progress, and works with the Risk, Integrity, and Compliance Committee to integrate sustainability risks into UEM Edgenta’s risk profile.
"Dear stakeholders,I am proud to share the significant progress UEM Edgenta has made in advancing our sustainability agenda. We remained steadfast in our commitment to sustainable business practices, guided by our core pillars of Sustainable Economic Growth, Minimising Environmental Impact, and Social Value Creation, with Governance as the overarching pillar."
