Full Release: Kuala Lumpur, 14 October – UEM Edgenta Berhad (“UEM Edgenta” or the “Company”), the region’s leading Asset Management and Infrastructure Solutions company has repurposed its Private COVID-19 Assessment Centre (“CAC”) at UEM Edgenta Learning Centre (“UELC”), Petaling Jaya as a Public Vaccination Centre (“PPV”) for adolescents aged between 12 to 15 years old.

The PPV, established in collaboration with ProtectHealth, the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, as well as supported by U.N.I.Klinik, will be operating for six weeks beginning 11 October 2021, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. daily, and is closed every Saturday and Sunday.

Syahrunizam Samsudin, UEM Edgenta’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer said, “We are honoured to be able to continue assisting the Government towards achieving the broadest coverage of vaccination as possible by getting the younger population inoculated and assist in getting schools to be reopened with more students being vaccinated. With more offices reopening and border restrictions relaxed, our strategic and ideal location close to residential areas would also be useful for those staying in the Klang Valley.”

“With the PPV up and running, we are targeting to administer up to 1,500 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine daily. Hopefully with this move, families will be able to resume their daily activities and InshaAllah (God willing), our country can continue to work towards economic and social recovery,” he added.

Earlier, UEM Edgenta had converted its employee training and development facility – UELC – into a Private CAC powered by QuickMed and equipped with a Polymerase Chain Reaction (“PCR”) mobile lab, screening services and state-of-the-art equipment to reduce overcrowding at other neighbouring CACs. The Private CAC has assessed almost 4,000 COVID-19 patients throughout its 3-months operation.
